JONATHAN CHAN is a third-generation Chinese-American Writer-Director-Producer from San Ramon, California. Growing up in a family that is arguably the largest patron of their local theater, Jonathan is captivated by storytelling, specifically dramas enhanced by the action, horror, and thriller genres. His films are made possible by diverse individuals and he orients his narratives around socio-political and familial themes.

Jonathan is a Film and TV Production graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He has worked at 87North Productions (THE FALL GUY, BULLET TRAIN) and MGM's Orion Pictures in Film Development. Jonathan is a Jon M. Chu Cinematic Arts Scholar and is the recipient of the Edward Small Directing Award.

His post-apocalyptic-drama script, THE GARDEN, was a quarterfinalist in the 2021 ScreenCraft Feature Screenplay Competition. His action-drama short, NO TROUBLE, which stars Rich Ting (WARRIOR, TULSA KING) and is stunt coordinated by Emmy-Award Winning Stunt Coordinator, John Koyama (THE BOYS), is currently in the festival circuit.

In addition to narrative, he is venturing into the commercial world.
